- Last year none of Akshay Kumar's films made it to the Top 10 list of Most Awaited Movies of 2011. But this year as many as 3 of his films namely Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 (OUATIM 2), Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore make it to the Top 10. 2012 is definitely a crucial year for Akshay who also has films like Joker and Khiladi 786 slated to release.
- Among the younger lot of actors, Emraan Hashmi seems to be leading the pack with 2 of his films (Jannat 2 and Raaz 3) making it to the Top 15 of Most Awaited Movies of 2012. Ranbir 'Rockstar' Kapoor's film Barfee finds itself at No. 13. Shockingly none of Imran Khan or Shahid Kapoor's films feature anywhere in the Top 15 of this list.
- As far as our heroines go, both Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif seem to be ruling the roost with both of them having 2 films each in the Top 5 of Most Awaited Movies of 2012. While Kareena has Talaash and Agent Vinod to boast of, Katrina has Ek Tha Tiger and Yash Chopra's directorial venture in the Top 5.
- Last year Priyanka Chopra had 2 of her films (Don 2 and 7 Khoon Maaf) in the Top 10 of Most Awaited Movies of 2011 but this year Piggy Chops doesn't have a single release of hers making it to the Top 10 of Most Awaited Movies of 2012. Her film Barfee manages to make it to No. 13 in this list. Like each year, this year too, we, at Bollywood Hungama conducted a poll to chart out what are likely to be the biggest blockbusters of 2012. The analysis took the form of an extensive survey held in the month of January 2012 and conducted online amongst those who really matter - the Consumers. Spanning regions as diverse as India and South-East Asia to the European Union and USA-Canada, the user had to select his/her 10 most anticipated movies. To ensure complete transparency and accuracy, a three level authentication check with email validation, cookie check and IP mapping was put into place.
The hot list of the 'Most Awaited Movies of 2012' truly proved to be the voice of the masses, garnering an overwhelming response with lakhs of valid responses. Results were compiled based on votes from 165 countries - countries which constitute about 98% of revenue towards Bollywood releases. Moreover this time, Facebook users were also allowed to vote thereby increasing the total no of votes polled and thereby creating a larger sample size across geographies.
Note- Films such as Players and Agneepath, which released in the month of January 2012, were not included in this poll and hence don't feature in this list.

- After a relatively quiet 2010 and 2011, Aamir Khan finds himself at the top of the table with Talaash. This one doesn't come as a surprise as Talaash is Aamir's first full fledged commercial release after 3 Idiots which released way back in 2009. In fact, in 2009, Aamir's 3 Idiots was at No.2 in the list of Most Awaited Movies but this time the Perfectionist Khan has occupied the top spot with ease.
- After occupying the top spot in the list of Most Awaited Movies for the last 2 years with his films like Don 2 (2011) and My Name Is Khan (2010), Shah Rukh Khan's only release this year- the untitled Yash Raj film- is placed 2 notches below at No. 3 in the list of Most Awaited Movies of 2012.
- Salman Khan, who is riding high post the success of films like Bodyguard, Ready and Dabangg, has 2 of his films namely- Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2- in the Top 5 of Most Awaited Movies of 2012.
- The Top 5 list is ruled by the Khans with Saif Ali Khan's home production Agent Vinod making it to the 5th spot.
