Earlier we had reported that soon after the success of Airlift, Akshay Kumar had commenced work on his next venture with Neeraj Pandey titled Rustom. Though details of the film have been kept strictly under wraps, the crew was recently spotted shooting with vintage cars.
Akshay was also recently spotted with the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das who dropped by on the sets of Rustom while in Mumbai. Though currently more details of the film are unavailable, Rustom that is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai is produced by Zee Studios and Kriarj Entertainment in association with Plan C Studios and Cape of Good Films. The film is slated for release on August 12, 2016.
In fact a 1950 Mercedes and 1962 Chevrolet Desoto were used for the shoot, and were specially brought to Mumbai where the shoot is on in full swing. Said to also feature Esha Gupta and Ileana Dcruz alongside Akshay Kumar, Rustom will feature Kumar playing an Indian Naval officer and is set in the 1960s.
