It was Vijay Devarakonda's conviction, passion and determination that helped him to pull off such a layered character, Arjun Reddy in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film of the same title that went on to become one of his iconic and most popular on-screen characters.

Vijay's terrific performance as a short-tempered alcoholic surgeon won him laurels and accolades from the audience across the globe. Such was the craze and popularity of the film that it was made in Hindi as Kabir Singh (starring Shahid Kapoor) and went on to become another blockbuster.

On the occasion of the blockbuster completing six years after its release today, Vijay takes a trip down memory lane and reminisces about the time when he and Sandeep met at a cafe to discuss the movie in detail.

Vijay says, "Time flies. Still remember vividly the first narration in a cafe where no one recognised us because Sandeep and I were just 2 customers. We were nobody, we shot so much of the film, guerrilla-style, candidly on the streets of Hyderabad, running, walking bare-chested across a road… but we were two mad men obsessed by making an impact and story-telling.”

"I fondly think of the times before all the chaos started. Until next time, Sandeep and I get together, I send my love to all who celebrate us and wait for us” he adds.

Coming to the professional front, Vijay is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming film, Kushi, co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
