Studio Green's much-awaited Kanguva, starring Suriya, is indeed one of the biggest films that has been eagerly anticipated by the masses. The recently released teaser gave a glimpse of the thrilling world the film will be introducing, as audiences are eagerly waiting to know more. Amid the rising exhilaration, the sequel, Kanguva 2, has now been officially announced by the makers.

Producer reveals details of Kanguva 2

In a recent interview, Producer K.E. Gnanvel Raja revealed that the Suriya starrer is going to be two-part film. In fact, he shared that the film will set the premise for its second part in this upcoming cinematic extravaganza itself as the climax will feature an exciting twist leaving everyone excited for the sequel. Further, adding to the details, the producer insisted that they charted a schedule for this second installment and that the shooting will start by the end of 2025.

Currently, Kanguva 2 is in the scripting stage and the shooting is expected to be completed only in 2026. However, unlike other films, the sequel to this Suriya starrer will take some time before it hits cinemas. According to him, Kanguva Part 2 is expected to hit the big screens in the first half of 2027 - either in January or around the summer holidays, in April 2027.

First part of Kanguva to release this year

After the teaser has already piqued excitement for the film, the trailer is eagerly awaited among fans of the franchise. It is expected to be an action entertainer spanning generations and marks the 39th film of Tamil superstar Suriya as the lead. The actor will be seen in different avatars in the movie and along with him, it will also mark the Tamil debuts of Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. The film will also feature an ensemble supporting cast which includes the likes of Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, K. S. Ravikumar and B. S. Avinash. Directed by Siva, the film is slated to release in multiple languages on October 10, 2024.
