Telugu superstar Allu Arjun recently made headlines after visiting Nandyala in Andhra Pradesh during an ongoing electoral campaign. His visit was to support his friend, MLA Silpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy, a gesture that has led to a formal complaint being registered against him.
In response to the complaint, Allu Arjun issued an official statement to clarify his stance. He stated, "Firstly, I want to clarify that I'm not affiliated with any political party. I remain neutral and support my people, regardless of their political affiliations. This includes my uncle Pawan Kalyan, whom I'll always stand by, along with my friend Ravi and my father-in-law, Mr. Reddy. I made a promise to my friend, Mr. Ravi, to support him, but I couldn't fulfill it last time. To keep my word, this time I went to Nandyala to support him."
For the unversed, Allu Arjun was initially seen extending his support to his uncle, actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan. Following this, Arjun decided to extend his best wishes to another friend, MLA Silpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy, visiting him in Nandyala amidst the ongoing electoral campaign
However, this goodwill visit turned controversial when the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and Deputy Tehsildar P Ramachandra Rao from Nandyala filed a complaint against him. The complaint alleges that Allu Arjun and MLA Silpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy violated electoral rules by gathering a large crowd outside Ravi’s residence ahead of the elections scheduled for May 13.
Allu Arjun also took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to address the situation. On May 11, he posted, "I came here on my own. Among my friends, in whichever field they are in, I will step up and help them if they need my help. It doesn't mean I am backing or supporting any political party."
Grateful to the people of Nandyal for the warm reception. Thank you, @SilpaRaviReddy garu, for the hospitality. Wishing you the very best in the elections and beyond. You have my unwavering love and support pic.twitter.com/n34ra9qpMO
