India has been badly affected by the second wave of COVID-19. With a massive surge in the cases across the country, most states have called for a lockdown or strict restrictions in movement of people. Several states have also shut down cinema halls amid the surge.
Earlier this year when there was a dip in COVID cases, filmmakers had announced the release date of their films. However, owing to the current situation, filmmakers have started postponing the release of their films again. The latest to cancel the scheduled release of their film is Chiranjeevi starrer Acharya. The film was scheduled to be released in theatres on May 13.
The Konidela Production Company took to twitter and wrote, "Keeping in view of the pandemic situation, #Acharya movie will not be releasing on May 13. New Release date will be announced once the situation becomes normal. Wear mask, Stay home & stay safe! #AcharyaPostponed." Reportedly, the film is likely to be out either in mid-July or early August.
