Dulquer Salmaan starrer Lucky Baskhar gets postponed to Diwali 2024; makers issue official statement

In the statement, the makers have assured audiences for more time to complete the dubbing in multiple language since it is a Pan-India release.

Considering the love that Dulquer Salmaan enjoys not just in Kerala but across the country, Lucky Baskhar which is period thriller is one of the most anticipated projects of the superstar. The actor is collaborating with Telugu filmmaker Venky Atluri for this Pan-India entertainer which was slated to release next month but has now been pushed further to October. The producers, Sithara Entertainment, took to social media to issue an official statement where they have also shared reasons for the delay.

Makers request more time for dubbing

Readers would be aware that since it is a Pan-India release, Lucky Baskhar will be releasing in multiple languages, including Hindi. The makers have reasoned that they are striving to achieve perfection in every aspect including the dubs and hence have requested for more time to refine their film. Taking to the social media platform X, aka Twitter, Sithara Entertainment captioned the post, “Postponing releases can impact social media reputation, but it's essential for our film's quality! #LuckyBaskhar is set to make your Diwali special in theatres worldwide. Grand release on Oct 31st, 2024.”

Further elaborating in a note that was posted along with it, they said, “Dear fans & movie lovers, we appreciate and understand your anticipation towards our Lucky Baskhar. Yours and our favourite Dulquer Salmaan has delivered one of his finest performances as Baskhar and without compromising on quality, our ace technical crew recreated 80's & 90's Mumbai with extensive sets. similarly, we are not compromising on dubbing quality in various languages, we want to make it sound & feel as authentically native as possible in every language. being a multilingual film and grand pan-India release. We need some more time to achieve the quality we aspire to. With a heavy heart, we have decided to postpone the film, Lucky Baskhar will now release on Diwali, October 31 2024”.

More details on the film

Set in the 80s, Lucky Baskhar follows a banker's journey towards becoming wealthy but in a twisted way. It also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ayesha Khan, Hyper Aadi and P. Sai Kumar in key roles and its technical crew includes cinematographer Nimish Ravi, editor Naveen Nooli with music composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar. The film will now be releasing on October 31 and might be clashing with one of the biggest Bollywood releases of the year, Singham Again starring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles, along with many special cameos.
