Jr NTR is currently basking in the success of his recently released film RRR that he terms a landmark film of his 20-year-long career. The film directed by SS Rajamouli also stars Ram Charan in the lead along with Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Shriya Saran in a special appearance. Recently, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, post the release of the film, Jr NTR spoke about the influence of his grandfather NTR and his thoughts on joining active politics.

When asked if he sees himself joining politics in the near future, the actor said, “Right now I am in a very happy phase of my life. I have just started enjoying this whole journey of an actor. I would want to stick to that first. For some strange reason, I don't think that your future is 10 years from now or 5 years from now, your future is your next second. So I live for the moment. Right now, I am happy as an actor. There is work that gives me immense satisfaction as an actor. So I am somebody who sticks to the moment and I am going to stick with this for now.”

He also spoke about his grandfather Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, who was a superstar, director, and politician who served three terms as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh; he has worked in over 300 films and has three National Awards to his credit. Jr NTR while talking about his grandfather called him a good and responsible citizen of the country. “What I keep learning from him, it's been in phases. He was a great actor, he was a great politician, but more than this, he was a great citizen of this country. The kind of reforms he has brought about when he came into politics and the kind of roles he played to entertain his audiences proves what a good citizen he was. Every time I think about him, for me, it is about yes, you give back. You have to give back to society in one way or the other. You have to be a good citizen of this country; this country has given you so much love. So you will have to be responsible for giving that love back.”

“I get overwhelmed when my fans keep giving me so much love. There is a constant thing running in my head- ‘How do I repay this?' The amount of love and attention I get from them. They cry when I am sad, they laugh when I am happy. Why does this happen? It’s this magic that has made it happen. Nature has made it happen. I will have to give it back to them. So how do I do it? Well, I have to make good films, if that keeps them happy. For me, this is what I keep taking from my grandfather- Feel responsible to give back that love,” he added.
