‘The Golden Era comes to life’- Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 starring Chiyaan Vikram and Aishwarya Rai to release in 2022 : Bollywood News

Mani Ratnam's epic drama Ponniyin Selvan based on the novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy has been in the making for a long time. On Monday, the makers of the Tamil drama announced that part 1 of the film will be released in 2022 along with an impactful poster.

A. R. Rahman took to Twitter to announce the 2022 release of the first part of the film along with the poster. In the all gold poster, we see a sword hitting the ground with a metallic shield behind it with a tiger’s face on it.

Sharing the poster, A R Rahman wrote, “The golden era comes to life! #PonniyinSelvan #PS1 #ManiRatnam.”

Ponniyin Selvan has been Mani Ratnam's decade-long dream which is now set to come alive on the screen next year. The film boasts of an ensemble cast including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Ashwin Kakumanu in prominent roles. Reportedly, the team is currently shooting for the film in Puducherry which will be followed by a long schedule in Hyderabad. Ponniyin Selvan follows the story of Arulmozhi Varman and the Chola dynasty.
