Tollywood star Rana Daggubati is making headlines by announcing his upcoming film, Hiranyakashyapa, at the Comic-Con event in San Diego. The film is based on the mythological figure of the same name and is extended to be directed by Trivikram Srinivas.
However, Rana's announcement has sparked a debate online, with director Gunasekhar, who had previously announced his own film on Hiranyakashyapa, taking a dig at Rana.
In a tweet, Gunasekhar wrote, "While making God the central theme of your story, you must also keep in mind that God keeps an eye on your integrity. Unethical acts will be answered through ethical means."

Many fans have supported Gunasekhar, calling Rana's announcement a "disrespect" to the director's vision for the film, while many extended their support to Rana. On the other hand, Rana has not yet responded to Gunasekhar's tweet.
For the unversed, Daggubati, who is currently at the San Diego Comic-Con, announced his new film Hiranyakashyap. The movie is inspired by Amar Chitra Katha comics and will be directed by Trivikram Srinivas. Rana is the right fit to play the demon king. The film's release date is still unknown.
Coming to the professional front, the 38-year-old actor was last seen in Netflix's original web show, Rana Naidu, co-starring his uncle and actor Venkatesh Daggubati along with Surveen Chawla. His last big screen release was Virata Parvam.
