Hyderabad Court refuses to speed up proceedings in defamation lawsuit filed by Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Samantha Ruth Prabhu had filed a defamation case against some Youtube channels a couple of days ago. The said channels were allegedly running false news about her personal life. She accused them of spreading malicious content about her having extra-marital affairs and abortions. Samantha's lawyer had requested a Hyderabad court to hear the matter on an urgent basis, however, the request has been denied.
The Kukatapally court in Hyderabad where Samantha filed the defamation lawsuit has refused to speed up the proceedings stating the law is equal for everyone. Reportedly, Samantha and her lawyer have been suggested to seek apology from the owners of those Youtube channels and digital platforms.

Earlier this month, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya had officially announced the end of their marriage. Soon after many YouTube channels and digital platforms came up with their own theories for the separation. The theories ranged from extra-marital affairs to abortion by Samantha and raised questions on her character.

Earlier, Samantha had put out a statement clarifying all rumours around her. “Your emotional investment into a personal crisis has overwhelmed me. Thank you all for showing deep empathy, concern and for defending me against false rumours and stories that are being spread. They say I had affairs, never wanted children that I am an opportunist, and now that I have had abortions. A divorce in itself is an extremely painful process. Let alone allowing me the time to heal. This attack on me personally has been relentless. But I promise you I will never allow or this or anything else they say break me,” she wrote.
