The much-anticipated Tamil film Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan and directed by S. Shankar, is gearing up for its theatrical release on July 12, 2024. The makers hosted a grand audio launch event on June 1 at the Nehru Stadium in Chennai to heighten the excitement. The star-studded event saw the film's cast and crew, along with other figures from the Indian film industry, come together to celebrate the film's impending arrival.

Seizing the opportunity, director Shankar addressed the eager crowd, expressing his confidence in the film. He assured fans that “every scene of Kamal Haasan would be a treat,” hinting at the veteran actor's stellar performance. Shankar also lauded music director Anirudh Ravichander's contribution, commending him for crafting “6 great songs” for Indian 2. This marks the first collaboration between Shankar and Ravichander.

Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is currently busy with his own upcoming project featuring Rajinikanth, was also in attendance. He revealed his persistent pursuit of updates from the film's lead trio – Haasan, Shankar, and Anirudh. He even shared a lighthearted anecdote from his experience working with Haasan in Vikram, where he playfully recounted being scolded for a spelling mistake on the third day of shooting.

Reports suggest a special treat for moviegoers – a glimpse of Indian 3 will be seen in the end credits of Indian 2. This is particularly exciting for fans considering the cliffhanger ending of Indian (1997), the immediate sequel to the 1996 original film.

Kamal Haasan is joined by Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead, with a supporting cast that boasts prominent names like SJ Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, and Samuthirakani.

The film is being produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Films.
