S Shankar predicts about films which have the potential to be mega-blockbusters

The recently released magnum opus Kalki 2898 AD seems to be winning hearts and the box office as several industry insiders have showered appreciation on the sci-fi entertainer. Among them is Indian 2 filmmaker S Shankar, and as he gears up for the release of his next, Indian 2, he lists out the other pan-India films which, according to him, will redefine success this year and it includes the likes of Kanguva, Pushpa 2: The Rule, and Coolie.

S Shankar is confident that these films will bring pride to Indian cinema

In a recent interaction, director S Shankar said, "Yesterday, I watched Kalki 2898 AD, and it truly represents the pride of Indian cinema. Three months ago, I predicted in an interview that the movie Kalki would definitely reach 1000 crores. As predicted, it is on track to reach this milestone soon. I firmly believe that Kanguva, Pushpa 2, and Coolie will also achieve this feat and bring pride to Indian cinema, just as Kalki has done."

Kanguva is the biggest and most expensive film of this year. Directed by Siva, the film will star Suriya, leading an ensemble cast that includes Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. On the other hand, Pushpa 2: The Rule is one of the most anticipated films, directed by Sukumar. The film stars Allu Arjun in the titular role, along with Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. As for Coolie, it marks the first collaboration between director Lokesh Kanagaraj and megastar Rajinikanth.

Meanwhile, speaking of Kalki 2898 AD, which has been creating buzz, the film marks the first collaboration of Telugu superstar Prabhas with Bollywood female star Deepika Padukone and megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Inspired by certain portions of the Indian mythology, the film is a sci-fi entertainer that deals with the age-old prophecy of the tenth avatar of Vishnu, Kalki. The movie, also starring actors like superstar Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, among others is directed by Nag Ashwin and released in multiple languages including Hindi.
