Post the global phenomenon RRR, Jr. NTR has solidified his position as one of Indian cinema’s most sought-after stars. With his upcoming release, Devara: Part 1, scheduled for September 27, 2024, the actor is strategically expanding his horizon. Jr. NTR is in advanced talks to collaborate with director Shouryuv, the mastermind behind Hi Nanna.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the actor has been deeply impressed by Shouryuv’s narrative style and has requested him to develop the initial idea into a full-fledged screenplay. “NTR has loved the subject developed by Shouryuv and has asked him to develop it into a screenplay,” revealed an insider. This upcoming project is envisioned as a high-octane action drama, planned as a two-part epic. While the first installment is targeted for a 2028 release, the second part is slated for 2031.

“The aim is to release the first installment in 2028 and the second part in 2031. It’s not a routine run-of-the-mill action drama, but rather an ambitious project that warrants 6 hours of storytelling as the character evolves from a certain point,” the source added. The film is tailored to capitalize on Jr. NTR’s strengths - intense drama and powerful screen presence. The actor is particularly intrigued by Shouryuv’s vision for confrontational scenes and thought-provoking dialogues.

Shouryuv, despite being a relatively new director, has earned Jr. NTR’s trust. “NTR always bats for young talent, as he often appreciates the power of scripts. Shouryuv is now working to develop his extended idea into a full-length screenplay, and is confident to spin a story that justifies the aura and stardom of NTR Jr. The actor is waiting for a final narration, which will take place later in the year before signing the dotted lines,” the source concluded.

While the gap between RRR and Devara: Part 1 might seem significant, NTR Jr. is strategically building a robust pipeline of films to ensure a consistent presence on the big screen including War 2, Devara 2 and an untitled project with Prashanth Neel.
