Thug Life is also a special film as it marks the reunion of real-life good friends Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after 37 years.

Known as the megastar across film industries, the highly respected Kamal Haasan witnessed love and appreciation for his role as Supreme Yaskin in the blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD co-starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan. Amid all the love coming his way, the actor-turned-politician was seen celebrating over six decades of his career in the Indian entertainment industry. To commemorate the occasion, Mani Ratnam’s production house Madras Talkies shared a special post which also gave audiences a sneak peek into the world of his upcoming film Thug Life.

Madras Talkies pens a note for Kamal Haasan

Readers would be aware that Thug Life is a special film since it marks the return of the hit collaboration of Kamal Haasan and filmmaker Mani Ratnam after 37 years. The production house Madras Talkies which will be producing the film took to the social media platform to share an unseen BTS picture of Kamal and Mani Ratnam having an intense conversation on the sets of the film. They also penned a note that read, “65 years ago, the world witnessed the arrival of a future cinematic colossus. With his baby steps in cinema growing into giant strides over the decades, @ikamalhaasan continues to expand the artistic boundaries of Indian cinema with his unrelenting pursuit of artistic excellence. Congratulations, dear Kamal Sir!”

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari dropped a comment on the post saying, “Bestest Max” and added several heart emojis. Meanwhile, many fans of the actor and filmmaker also shared excitement and wished Kamal Haasan on completing so many years in the industry.

Boasting of an extensive ensemble cast like Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Sanya Malhotra, among many others, the film is an action drama with music composed by A. R. Rahman. While the film is already being shot across cities, the makers are yet to announce a release date.
