Inspired by real-life events, the Kamal Haasan Production Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan as the leading man has finally received a release date. Readers would be aware that the film was already on floors with Sivakarthikeyan shooting extensively for the action-packed military drama. Now it seems that the movie, which also stars Sai Pallavi in a key role, will hit the cinemas worldwide during Diwali this year.

Amaran to release in October

In a recent turn of events, RaajKamal Films International (RKFI) & Sony Pictures International Productions have come together to announce the release of their much-awaited project Amaran on October 31, 2024 amid the occasion of Diwali festivities. The Tamil Nadu theatrical distribution will be handled by Red Giant Movies with the digital rights being given to Netflix. The makers took to social media to share this announcement along with a poster.

The film is a “tribute to brave hearts”

Written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran unfolds as an action emotional drama set against the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir. Sivakarthikeyan headlines Amaran with an intense performance in a never- seen-before avatar of Major Mukund Varadharajan. Based on the chapter “Major Varadharajan” from the book titled “India’s Most Fearless”, written by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, the film traces the life of a military officer who headed the counterterrorism operation while on deputation to the 44th Rashtriya Rifles battalion in Jammu and Kashmir. Sharing the screen will also be actress Sai Pallavi, who is expected to add emotional depth to the film with her character.

The film also stars Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, Hanun Bawra, Ajaey Naga Raaman, Mir Salman, Gaurav Venkatesh and Shreekumar in key roles. Whereas its technical team boasts of music director G V Prakash, production designer Rajeevan, cinematographer CH Sai, editor R. Kalaivanan, among others. The action sequences are choreographed by Anbariv masters along with Stefan Richter. The film is produced by Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan, R. Mahendran and Sony Pictures International Productions and co-produced by God Bless Entertainment.
