With the resounding success of films like Baahubali, KGF, RRR, Pushpa-The Rise, and now KGF-2 across India, the term Pan-India came to be used for films catering to audiences across the country speaking and understanding different languages. Recently, during the launch of the film R: The Deadliest Gangster Ever, Kannada film actor Kichcha Sudeepa entered the debate of Hindi being termed and considered the national language of India. He said that filmmakers in the south are making films with a global presence while Hindi language films are struggling to face success in the south.
Referring to the massive success of the film KGF- Chapter 2 which was originally made in Kannada language, Kiccha said, "You said that a pan India film was made in Kannada. I’d like to make a small correction. Hindi is no more a national language. They (Bollywood) are doing pan-India films today. They are struggling (to find success) by dubbing in Telugu and Tamil, but it’s not happening. Today we are making films that are going everywhere.”
While Hindi is one of the many official languages of India, there has been a constant debate on the status of the Hindi language as the National language.
Meanwhile, KGF- Chapter 2, starring Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, and Raveena Tandon is creating a riot at the box office. The film is written and directed by Prasanth Neel. It is a sequel to 2018’s KGF Chapter 1.
