As per a report by On Manorama, he said, "I had written Mufti keeping Fahadh Faasil in mind. It's a story that revolves around a policeman's uniform. The uniform doesn't fit him, and therefore, he decides to give it for alteration. What happens in those two hours forms the crux of the story."

Speaking of his other projects, Lokesh added that Kaithi 2, Vikram 2 and the Rolex standalone film are on the cards and the director is waiting for Karthi and Kamal Hassan for the dates. He went on to reveal that he is currently planning to team up with upcoming talents for his other story ideas including LCU-spin.
