Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni along with his family including his actor sons Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni has adopted 1080 acres of forest land at Chengicherla in Hyderabad. An urban park will be set up in the land in the name of the Nagarjuna's late father and Dadasaheb Phalke Awardee Akkineni Nageshwara Rao. Nagarjuna also donated Rs. 2 crores for the Haritha Nidhi, an idea conceived by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
The foundation laying ceremony was conducted on February 17, marking the birthday celebrations of the Chief Minister. Nagarjuna attended the event along with his family. Nagarjuna's wife Amala Akkineni also attended the function.
Sharing the photos from the adoption ceremony, Nagarjuna tweeted, "Many happy returns of the day to chief minister Kcr garu! Happy to announce the adoption and laying the foundation for the ANR URBAN PARK in Chengicherla forest area by the Akkineni family to #kcr garu and @MPsantoshtrs for this opportunity #greenindiachallenge #HBDKCR."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Nagarjuna will next be seen in Ayan Mukerji's film Brahmastra alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mouni Roy. He was last seen in the recently released Telugu film Bangarraju which reunited him with his son Naga Chaitanya on screen.
