Karthikeya 2, which released alongside Raksha Bandhan and Laal Singh Chaddha, managed to entice the audience with its mythology-themed fantasy adventure. This Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupama Parameswaran, and Anupam Kher starrer is a sequel to Karthikeya but with a completely different storyline and mystery at the backdrop. Now after many fan theories about a third installment being on the cards, actor Nikhil Siddhartha has confirmed that the makers are indeed considering taking the film franchise ahead with Karthikeya 3.

In an interview with India Today, Nikhil Siddhartha confirmed about Karthikeya 3 being on the cards saying, “Yes, with everyone’s blessings, we are planning to make Karthikeya 3. Also, this time is more exciting because we plan to make the film in 3D.” The news definitely comes as a treat to fans who have been wondering about what is in store for Karthikeya in the third instalment. Audiences, who have watched the sequel, would be aware that the climax of the film features Nikhil holding a key that further speculated about another film in the making. But it seems with the 3D announcement, fans are going to be in for a treat for the third film.

For the uninitiated, the Karthikeya film franchise explores the journey of Nikhil’s character who tries to solve some intriguing mysteries of the world. While the first film, which released in 2014, revolved around a closed Karthikeya temple in the village of Subrahmanyapuram that captures the attention of a medical student named Karthik. After multiple snake bite incidents around the place, he decides to investigate the mystery surrounding the temple. Seven years after its prequel, Karthikeya returns as an investigator who sets on a mission in Dwaraka to find the lost anklet of Lord Krishna. It is yet to be seen the kind of theme Karthikeya 3 will be exploring.
