Prashanth Neel courted Prabhas for four months for Salaar: “When I went to narrate the movie, this was a mass movie with a very strong emotion”

The film will be released in theatres on December 22, 2023.

In simply a few days, Prashanth Neel’s Salaar: Part 1: Ceasefire starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran will see its theatrical release. The excitement amongst the fans is at an all-time high. Prashanth Neel recently spoke about the film and revealed that he courted Prabhas for about four months for the project.

Speaking to E-Times, Prashanth Neel said, “That was about 4 months, we've had drinks a few times. Everybody is reserved and you have to live through a couple of years in the making of the film with an actor on a daily basis. And if you don't have a rapport with them, you are not going to see that on screen, your chemistry starts off-screen. With Yash, we have a friendship that is going to last a lifetime.”

He added, “When I went to Prabhas sir to narrate the movie, this was a mass movie with a very strong emotion to it. The reason why he has so many fans and I am also one of his fans is because of all the mass roles that he did before Baahubali and the world has not seen all those movies. So I wanted to present him in the way I first loved him and watched him in films like Varsham, Chathrapati etc. So when you start changing the story because of the environment, because KGF has worked or because some other movie has not worked then you are definitely not going to give a hit movie at the end of the day.”

Hombale Films’ Salaar: Part 1: Ceasefire will star Prabhas along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu. Made under the direction of Prashanth Neel, the film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur. The film will be released in theatres on December 22, 2023.
