The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned 12 Tollywood actors and directors in the 4-year-old drug case. The names that have come into the spotlight are Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati, Ravi Teja, Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Mumaith Khan, among others. Puri Jagannadh has been summoned on August 31, Rakul on September 6, Rana and Ravi Teja on September 8 and 9, respectively.
According to India Today, the "celebrities have been summoned as witness in the case. The money laundering probe by the ED is based on a case by the excise and prohibition department. The Special Investigation Team of Hyderabad Excise And Prohibition Department in July 2017 launched an investigation against Tollywood celebrities and others."
As per reports, in 2017, these 12 actors and directors were called in for questioning by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) amid the high-end drug racket case.
