Rana Daggubati speaks about corneal transplant, having partial vision; says, “I am still surviving” : Bollywood News

Time and again, actor Rana Daggubati has impressed the audience with his performance. Besides being an actor, Rana is truly an inspiration for many. Before becoming an actor, Rana faced several health issues including suffering from partial blindness while growing up. Recently, the actor shed some light on the matter and talked about why he felt the need to share his story back in 2016.

It all happened during the Baahubali actor’s conversation with The Bombay Journey. He asserted, “I think I am one of the few guys who spoke about corneal transplants. It was also because there was a kid whose mom had lost her eye and he was very sad in terms of what it is. And I told him it is not what it is. Everything has a way of it and that’s when I just told you about my eye. I can’t see from my right eye, so I operate with a different view.”

The Leader actor further added, “Many people can get broken because of a physical problem and even if it gets fixed, there is a certain heaviness that will still be there. I had a corneal transplant, I had a kidney transplant so it’s like I am almost the Terminator. (laughs) So, I was like, ‘come on, I am still surviving and you just have to keep going’.”

For the unversed, Daggubati, in 2016, had revealed that he suffers from partial blindness during his appearance in the 2016 Telugu chat show Memu Saitham. After hearing a sobbing boy’s story, Rana had said, “Should I tell you one thing; I am blind from my right eye. I see only from my left eye. The one you see is someone else’s eye, which was donated to me after his death. If I close my left eye, I can see no one. LV Prasad operated on me when I was young.”

Coming to the professional front, the 38-year-old actor is currently bagging praises for his performance in Netflix’s latest show, Rana Naidu.
