Superstar Rajinikanth, whose last venture Jailer was a blockbuster hit at the box office, has kicked of the shoot for his next project with director TJ Gnanavel, who last helmed Jai Bhim. On Tuesday, October 3, an array of stars were announced as the cast members for Thalaivar 170. Now, the actor has been shooting for the movie and his latest appearance from the sets is going viral on social media.

In a video, Rajinikanth was seen waving at a crowd full of fans in Kerala as he arrived on the sets of the film. He was dressed in a brown shirt and a pair of pants as he waved at them.

Amongst the array of cast members includes megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan. Subaskaran, under the banner of Lyca Productions, is producing the untitled project, and Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music.

“I’m doing my 170th film with director Gnanavel and Lyca which will be a huge entertainer at the same time with a social message,” Rajinikanth told reporters at the Chennai airport on October 3 before he left for Thiruvananthapuram. “I am going to shoot for my 170th movie. The title for the movie is not decided yet,” he added.

Though the details about the film are being kept under wraps, reports suggest that Rajinikanth will be essaying the role of a cop in Thalaivar 170.
