Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is eagerly anticipating the release of her web series Citadel: Honey Bunny, in which she stars alongside Varun Dhawan. The show's premiere occurred in Mumbai on Monday. Leading up to the event, Samantha hosted an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on her Instagram stories, where she addressed numerous messages she received regarding her weight.

A comment from a social media user prompted Samantha to confront the issue of body shaming directly. The user suggested she should “bulk up,” and stated, “Please ma'am, gain some weight please go on bulking.”

Samantha posted a video message delivering a strong yet graceful response to the user. She said, “Another weight comment. I saw an entire thread about my weight. If you must know, I am on a strict anti-inflammatory diet that is necessary for my condition, which prevents me from gaining weight and keeps me within a certain weight bracket to manage my condition (myositis). Stop judging people. Let them be; live and let live. Please, it's 2024.”

During the AMA session, Samantha expressed pride in her role in Citadel. She also acknowledged that she had made mistakes with her choices in recent releases.

Meanwhile, regarding Citadel: Honey Bunny, the action series is written by Sita R Menon and directed by Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK). It serves as the Indian installment of the global Citadel franchise, which is executive produced by the Russo Brothers' AGBO. The series explores the story of the spy agency Citadel and its formidable enemy syndicate, Manticore. Citadel: Honey Bunny is set to premiere on Prime Video on November 7.

At the screening, both Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu spoke with ANI, sharing their experiences of working on the action-packed show.

Varun Dhawan expressed that Citadel: Honey Bunny would be a treat for his fans, showcasing a never-before-seen version of himself in the show. He said, “I think North, South, East, West...hopefully, everyone in India will like it. Please watch the show, guys. Samantha and I have worked very hard. The action is genuinely one step ahead from what you guys have seen so far. Hopefully, you will find this on global standards. For the first time, Russo Brothers are making a show in India. Raj and DK have made it. I think it's action like you've never seen it before. You will see never-seen-before avatars of me and Samantha.”

Samantha added, “Good vibes so far... We are extremely excited.”
