Samantha Ruth Prabhu to take a break from acting post wrapping up Citadel

Samantha Ruth Prabhu will next be seen in the Vijay Deverakonda starrer Kushi and the web show Citadel.

Recently, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was seen travelling across Europe shooting for her film Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda, as well as for Citadel with Varun Dhawan and the rest of the team. But her fans may now be a tad disappointed to hear that after completing her current projects, the actress might take a break. Fans would be aware that the actress is undergoing treatment for her autoimmune disease, Myositis, and we hear that Samantha has decided to take time off to recoup after a hectic schedule.

During the release of Yashoda last year, Samantha Ruth Prabhu had confessed about suffering from Myositis and had also assured her fans that she is undergoing extensive treatment for the same. However, the actress also had several work commitments in the pipeline because she decided to complete her work by taking a brief break and resuming the shoot. However, now after wrapping up Kushi and Citadel, we hear that the actress might be away from the industry for almost a year.

A source close to the actress confirmed about the break adding, “Sam is definitely going on a break, but only for a few months to focus on her health as she had one crazy year with back-to-back shoots. She will kickstart prepping for her new projects soon after the short break.”

Samantha Ruth Prabhu started the year with the promotions of her Pan India film Shaakuntalam, which released in April 2023. On the other hand, talking about her upcoming projects, Samantha will be seen alongside Vijay Deverakonda in Kushi which will be exploring their romantic chemistry for the first time. The Pan India film will release on September 1 in multiple languages.

Apart from that, Samantha will be essaying the lead role and will be sharing screen space alongside Varun Dhawan for the first time in the upcoming Indian spin-off of Citadel which will stream on Prime Video.
