With Diwali just around the corner, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Amaran, the much-anticipated film starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. The film promises an emotional and action-packed story inspired by true events with leading man Sivakarthikeyan taking on the role of Major Mukund Varadarajan. And in a recent promotional interview, the actor discussed his character along with sharing a revelation that there is a deeply personal reason behind his decision to do this role.
Sivakarthikeyan opens up about his personal connection to his role in Amaran; says, “I noticed many similarities between my father and Mukund Sir”During an interaction, Sivakarthikeyan shared that his own father served in the police force and the he had a significant influence in his decision. The actor, who grew up seeing his father in uniform, felt an emotional connection to the role. He explained, “One of the reasons I took up this project is that I grew up seeing my dad in uniform. He was a cop. The color of the uniform might be different, but the responsibilities are almost the same.”
Sivakarthikeyan elaborated on how the character of Major Mukund Varadarajan reminded him of his father. “When I first heard the story, I noticed many similarities between my father and Mukund Sir. I can’t reveal too many details right now, but yes, this was a big reason for me to be part of this project,” he said. The emotional resonance with the character and his own family’s experience made this project particularly special for the actor.
In a touching revelation, Sivakarthikeyan spoke about how his father had passed away while on duty, not in combat, but due to job-related pressure. Reflecting on the loss, he shared, “When I saw Indhu (Major Mukund Varadarajan’s wife) for the first time with her daughter, I was reminded of my mother and sister.
