Superstar Rajinikanth received a bomb threat call at his Chennai residence, Poes Garden. As per reports, the caller threatened to have planted a bomb at the actor's house. The police were informed of the call who searched the entire property but did not find anything.

Reportedly, the police have realized that it is a hoax call and are currently investigating the same. The officials are investigating where the call was made from and what the motive was behind the hoax call.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajinikanth will next be seen in the film Annaatthe. In the film directed by Siva, Rajinikanth will play a caring brother. This is the first time the superstar has worked with Siva who has helmed films like Veeram and Viswasam. The film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Meena and Khushbu in lead roles. Rajinikanth was last seen in the film Darbar which failed to create a magic at the box office and is said to have incurred losses up to Rs 70 crores. Reportedly, the actor has reduced his fees for Annaatthe owing to the losses incurred in Darbar.
