Creating history in Kerala, renowned actor and politician Suresh Gopi secured a massive victory in the Thrissur district of the state in the recently held Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Suresh Gopi, best known for his roles as a cop and a politician on screen, is the first BJP member to be triumphant in the state. Mover, we hear that Gopi won with an impressive lead of 75,079 votes, leaving behind other parties including the Left Democratic Front (LDF).
V S Sunil Kumar, who was the candidate from LDF, secured 3,34,160 votes whereas Suresh Gopi received 4,09,239 at the recently held Lok Sabha Elections. Not only is this win expected to be special for Bharatiya Janata Party who secured their first victory in the state of Kerala, but this is also a win for Gopi who becomes the first MP to have been elected in the state. Expressing his happiness over this win, Suresh Gopi also shared the same in a brief interaction with ANI, wherein he said, " I am in totally an ecstatic mood. What was very impossible became gloriously possible...it was not a 62-day campaign process, it was an emotional carriage for the past 7 years...I work for Kerala as a whole. My first pick will be to have AIIMS..."

Suresh Gopi started his career as an actor in Malayalam films in 1989 and went on to become one of the biggest superstars along with Mohanlal and Mammootty. The actor, also known for his action packed movies, became a member of the Rajya Sabha in 2016 and later, in the same year, he also joined the Bharatiya Janata Party with an aim to help people of his state. After contesting elections in 2019 and 2021 as member of the BJP, his recent win also marks his first win in Lok Sabha Elections.
