Suriya starrer blockbuster Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, produced by Suriya himself under the 2D Entertainments banner, has entered into the 24th Shanghai International Film Festival under Panorama Section. The film festival is scheduled to be held from June 12 to 15.
The co-producer at 2D Entertainments, Rajsekar Pandian took to his Twitter handle and announced the same. Rajeskar tweeted, “Happy that #SooraraiPottru #PraiseTheBrave enters Panorama Section of Shanghai International Film Festival 2021.”

Soorarai Pottru released last year on November 12, 2020 on Amazon Prime owing to the coronavirus pandemic. The film turned out to be a blockbuster with a good reception from the audience and got critically acclaimed by the critics.
The film also attained a milestone by becoming the third film in the ranking of the IMDb’s list of Top 1000 Movies. The first two films are Hollywood cult classics – The Shawshank Redemption and The Godfather.
Soorarai Pottru is a Tamil language film directed by Sudha Kongara, Staring Suriya in the lead with Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal and Mohan Babu in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Co-Produced by Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment. This film is a fictionalised version of the book “Simply Fly” written on the life of Air Deccan founder Capt. G. R. Gopinath.
