The Income Tax Department in Tamil Nadu recently made headlines after they allegedly decided to raid the properties owned by some renowned names in the Tamil industry. The names of three major producers that have made headlines are Kollywood financier Anbu Chezhian, producer Kalaipuli S Thanu and producer SR Prabhu. As per reports, the IT raid was conducted on August 2 in the properties of about 10 producers.

According to recent reports, the first IT raid happened on Tuesday morning 5 am at the Kollywood financier Anbu Chezhian’s 40 properties in Chennai and Madurai. As for producer Kalaipuli S, the raid reportedly began at 9 am at his T Nagar office and residence with 12 officials conducting it. On the other hand, speaking about SR Prabhu, the raid was conducted in all his properties including his Teynampet and T Nagar offices.

While Anbu Chezhian is a rather popular name in the industry, Kalaipuli S Thanu is also a renowned producer who has worked with the likes of Rajinikanth and other superstars in the industry. Talking about SR Prabhu, he is expected to be related to Tamil megastar Suriya. The reason and other details regarding the raid have not been revealed as yet.
