Prashanth Neel has become a force to reckon with, with the blockbuster success of KGF - Chapter 1 (2018) and KGF - Chapter 2 (2022). As a result, his next film, Salaar, is highly awaited. It stars superstar Prabhas in the lead and this casting has further upped the hype. Today, the makers announced that the teaser of Salaar will be out on July 6. In an unusual move, they decided to bring the teaser out at 5:12 in the morning. Movie buffs have been used to seeing assets being unveiled at 6:00 or 7:00 am and even at midnight. But this is probably a rare occurrence where a teaser will be launched at a time when many will be asleep.

Some observant netizens were quick to point out that this is being done due to the KGF connection in Salaar. It is said that Rocky Bhai (Yash) in KGF - Chapter 2 supposedly dies at 5:12 am. Hence, the teaser of Salaar is also being launched at the same time. To prove their point, some of them shared screenshots of the time on the clock in the ship being 5:05 am minutes before Rocky is killed in an explosion.

To add to the madness, Karthik Gowda, executive producer, Homebale Films, reacted to one tweet which talked about this theory. He replied, “This got a smile on all our faces :)”. This tweet has added to the speculation.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama in May 2022, Vijay Kiragandur, founder of Hombale Films reacted to theories of Salaar-KGF crossover. He smiled and said, “Those were the speculations that the fans started. We launched the KGF metaverse. We have a plan of launching games and other stuff. We also thought of bringing characters from different movies and not just from KGF. So, I was just informing a journalist about it. From here on, it went out of proportion and speculations began that we are making movies with the characters. So, there’s no plan as such.”

Besides Prabhas, Salaar also stars Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj and Jagapathi Babu. It releases in cinemas in multiple languages on September 28, 2023.
