Thalaivar 171: Nagarjuna to join hands with Lokesh Kanagaraj for the Rajinikanth starrer? : Bollywood News

With the casting for Thalaivar 171 generating more and more curiosity, a recent name which is being associated with the Rajinikanth starrer is that of Telugu superstar Nagarjuna. Prior to this, other names like Shruti Haasan, and actress Shobana too have also been linked to the film. Although filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj is maintaining silence on the same, reports about the film continue to do the rounds, adding to the anticipation.

In a recent report, it is being said that the makers of Thalaivar 171 are in talks with Nagarjuna for a key role in the film. If it turns out to be true, fans of both superstars will be in for a treat to see them come together on the big screen. However, details of the role he would be playing continue to stay under wraps. It is also being said that an official announcement about the same is being expected shortly. Interestingly, apart from doing some quintessential commercial cinema, Nagarjuna is also seen doing quite a bit of collaborative projects. In fact, he is recently shooting for Dhanush’s untitled film, reportedly called Kubera, also co-starring Rashmika Mandanna.

On the other hand, coming to the other names, after Lokesh Kangaraj collaborated with Shruti Haasan for Innimel, the filmmaker is also expected to be reuniting with the actress for the film. If rumours are to be believed, Shruti may possibly be essaying the role of Rajinikanth’s daughter. Meanwhile, Shobana is said to be in talks with the makers to play the role of Rajini’s leading lady.

This Lokesh Kangaraj and Rajinikanth film, which continues to be referred to as Thalaivar 171, will be getting its title on Monday, April 22. The film is also expected to feature some interesting names from Bollywood who will be a part of the entertainer.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is currently busy gearing up for the release of TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan which features an ensemble cast of Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo.
