Actor Vijay Deverakonda has announced that he will donate Rs 1 crore to 100 families to celebrate the success of his latest film Kushi. The actor made the announcement at a promotional event in Visakhapatnam.

"You are happy, so am I. To celebrate it, I am planning to do something and I don't know if it's right or wrong. If I don't, I won't be able to sleep. I will give away Rs 1 crore from my earnings… from Kushi. I will select hundred families and I will give them one lakh each before the success meeting of the film which is set to happen in 10 days," Deverakonda said.

The actor's gesture has been widely appreciated by his fans and the film industry. However, the distributor of Deverakonda's 2020 film World Famous Lover, Abhishek Nama, has requested the actor to help him recover the losses he incurred because of the film's failure.

In a tweet, Nama said that he had lost Rs 8 crore in the distribution of World Famous Lover. He requested Deverakonda to "save us and our Exhibitors & Distributors families also".
