Kannada actor Darshan, who was arrested in connection with the alleged murder of a fan named Renukaswamy, remains in police custody. On Wednesday, his wife Vijayalakshmi Darshan and their son visited him at Bengaluru Central Jail. Following the visit, Vijayalakshmi urged Darshan's fans to stay calm and have faith in the judicial system.
Appeal to fans for calm and composure
Vijayalakshmi shared an emotional message with Darshan’s fans, encouraging them to remain composed during this difficult time. She posted a fan art depicting a chain of people reaching a hilltop with a flag reading 'D Boss.' In her message, she conveyed Darshan's love for his fans and his request for them to focus on positive deeds. "I have spoken to him in detail about the situation outside and it has touched his heart. He has urged all his fans to stay calm and focus on doing good deeds and he is sure that he will be part of your prayers," she wrote.
Faith in the judicial system
Expressing her confidence in the legal process, Vijayalakshmi emphasized their belief in justice. "We have immense faith in the judicial system of our nation and am sure there will be brighter days ahead. I firmly believe that those attempting to harm Darshan through words/action during his absence, will be taken care of by Mother Chamundeshwari," she added. She requested the fans’ support during these tough times and assured them that "this too shall pass" and that "truth will triumph."
Fan arrested for threatening producer
In a related incident, a 31-year-old cab driver and Darshan fan was arrested for allegedly threatening producer Umapathy over his remarks against the actor on social media. The fan was released on bail after apologizing. A senior police official warned that legal actions would be taken against fans who harass others over Darshan's issues, emphasizing that they need to fall in line and respect the law.
Transfer of accused amid security concerns
Amid fears of retribution from Darshan's fans, four of the accused in Renukaswamy's murder case were transferred to Tumakuru jail. These individuals initially surrendered but later implicated Darshan as a co-perpetrator. Darshan, along with Pavithra Gowda and other accomplices, allegedly murdered Renukaswamy after he sent abusive messages to Pavithra. While rumors suggested Pavithra was Darshan's partner, the actor's lawyer denied these claims, stating they were just friends.
Family and friends show support
Despite the ongoing legal troubles, Darshan’s family and friends have shown unwavering support. Vijayalakshmi, along with their son Vineesh and Vinod Prabhakar, son of late actor Tiger Prabhakar, visited Darshan in jail. Vijayalakshmi also shared an old picture of Darshan greeting his fans with folded hands on her Instagram stories, reinforcing their hope and belief in his eventual exoneration.
