Best Music Video

A good music video can uplift a song and attract the audience to the theatres. This year’s winner for the Best Music Video was surely the most played and publicized track of the year- ‘Chammak Challo’ from SRK’s magnum opus Ra.One which won with 37% votes. With SRK and Kareena (sizzling in a red saree) setting the screen on fire with their dance, the song became an instant hit with the audience.

When we called the choreographer of ‘Chammak Challo’, Ganesh Hedge to congratulate him on his win, he said, “This is the best award that I have got, even if I don’t get any other award this is more than enough for me as the people love me and my work and they feel that I have done a good job. The appreciation from the junta directly is the best award ever. I think it’s the junta that makes a film or song popular and so I feel that they are the best judges. ‘Chammak Challo’ has not received any awards this year but I believe that a panel of jury consisting of 8 to10 people is not independent of their feelings and emotions. You need to have good relations with the jury members and not be in their bad books, to win the award. It is very difficult to please everyone in the film industry and I do maximum 1 or 2 songs a year so where is the time to build relationships or please the jury. More than often people are not satisfied by the awards that are being given because the jury also has their favourites. But the junta looks at an award from a very pure point of view ‘ki boss humko yeh acha laga toh acha laga nahi acha laga toh nahi acha laga’. I feel that 8 to10 people cannot decide whether an actor, film or choreographer is good or bad, it is the people who can make the best decision regarding this. So I feel that junta is the best jury and every award should have the junta deciding who should win the award. So I am happy that they have liked my work as it makes me want to work hard and do better and better.†

While SRK’s ‘Chammak Challo’ emerged as a clear winner in this category Salman Khan’s ‘Character Dheela’ from Ready bagged 16% votes.
