Best Music Video
A good music video can uplift a song and attract the audience to the theatres. This year’s winner for the Best Music Video was surely the most played and publicized track of the year- ‘Chammak Challo’ from SRK’s magnum opus Ra.One which won with 37% votes. With SRK and Kareena (sizzling in a red saree) setting the screen on fire with their dance, the song became an instant hit with the audience.
When we called the choreographer of ‘Chammak Challo’, Ganesh Hedge to congratulate him on his win, he said, “This is the best award that I have got, even if I don’t get any other award this is more than enough for me as the people love me and my work and they feel that I have done a good job. The appreciation from the junta directly is the best award ever. I think it’s the junta that makes a film or song popular and so I feel that they are the best judges. ‘Chammak Challo’ has not received any awards this year but I believe that a panel of jury consisting of 8 to10 people is not independent of their feelings and emotions. You need to have good relations with the jury members and not be in their bad books, to win the award. It is very difficult to please everyone in the film industry and I do maximum 1 or 2 songs a year so where is the time to build relationships or please the jury. More than often people are not satisfied by the awards that are being given because the jury also has their favourites. But the junta looks at an award from a very pure point of view ‘ki boss humko yeh acha laga toh acha laga nahi acha laga toh nahi acha laga’. I feel that 8 to10 people cannot decide whether an actor, film or choreographer is good or bad, it is the people who can make the best decision regarding this. So I feel that junta is the best jury and every award should have the junta deciding who should win the award. So I am happy that they have liked my work as it makes me want to work hard and do better and better.â€
While SRK’s ‘Chammak Challo’ emerged as a clear winner in this category Salman Khan’s ‘Character Dheela’ from Ready bagged 16% votes. -

Best Soundtrack
The winner of the Best Soundtrack of 2010 is Rockstar, an album which picked up slowly but had more than a dozen gems by the music maestro A.R.Rahman himself. With tracks like 'Sadda Haq', 'Jo Bhi Main', 'Katiya Karun', 'Kun Faya Kun' amongst others, Rockstar was the clear winner in this category with a whopping 46% of surfers voting for the album as the Best OST of the year.
Following Rockstar was the soundtrack of SRK starrer Ra.One which got 16% of the votes. The album composed by the talented duo of Vishal-Shekhar had the biggest chartbuster of the year in Chammak Challo.
Since 8 out of the top 10 soundtracks of 2011 belong to the T-Series label, it is but natural that T-Series is the 'Music Company of the Year'.
Talking about this, the head honcho of T-Series, Bhushan Kumar said, "It's a really proud moment that a vast majority of the Top 10 Soundtracks of 2011 are from the T-Series label. This just goes on to show that audience has really loved our music through the year. We will continue to set such high standards in 2012 as well." -

Best Lyricist
They say words make a song and if that's true then the Best Lyricist category surely is an important one. This year the winner of Best Lyricist was Shabbir Ahmed who wrote those beautiful lines in the romantic song 'Teri Meri' from Bodyguard. Shabbir bagged 27% of the votes to emerge on top of the list.
When Bollywood Hungama called up Shabbir to congratulate him on this honour, he said, "I am thrilled with this honour bestowed upon me by Bollywood Hungama surfers. I am grateful to my parents and also Himesh Bhai and Salman Bhai who gave me the chance to write lyrics for a song like 'Teri Meri'. Usually I have mainly written item numbers like 'Kaal Dhamaal, 'Tauba Tauba', 'Its Rocking', 'Dil Mein Baji Guitar' and even the recently released 'Bipasha' song from Jodi Breakers. It's the first time that I got a chance to write a soft melodious number like 'Teri Meri' and I am thankful to Himesh Bhai and Salman Bhai for trusting me. I would like to thank all the people who have liked my song and voted for me as Best Lyricist. Since these are awards voted for by the audience, I am happy that it's a fair result. Inshallah this year too I have some good songs in films like Dangerous Ishq, Department, Khiladi 786, Zila Ghaziabad, Maximum, Son Of Sardar, Tezz etc. and hope the audience continue to like and appreciate my work. This will only motivate me to work harder."
The runner-up in this category was Irshad Kamil who bagged 20% votes for his lines in 'Nadaan Parnidey' from Rockstar. -
