An experimental flick, Love Sex Aur Dhokha wouldn't have been what it eventually turned out to be had it not been for the effort of it's actors. Everyone from Anshuman Jha (playing Rahul), Shruti (Shruti), Raj Kumar Yadav (Adarsh), Neha Chauhan (Rashmi), Arya Devdutta (Naina), Herry Tangri (Loki Local) to Amit Sial (Prabhat) was superb in the character that he/she played. Out of this lot, Shruti, Arya and Herry can definitely expect some good roles to be coming their way as far as commercial Bollywood cinema is concerned.
Aditya Roy Kapur (Action Replayy, Guzaarish)
Technically, Action Replayy and Gauzaarish weren't the first films that Aditya had done. He was seen in a small part in London Dreams in 2009. Still, Action Replayy was his true blue debut as Aditya was more or less a central protagonist here. He was a surprise package in the film as this ex-VJ did complete justice to his lengthy role in the film. Boasting of a pleasant screen presence, confident act and a knack of being natural, he made an impression in Guzaarish as well. -
Amrita Puri (Aisha) She was one of the girls in Aisha and while women around him, including the leading lady Sonam Kapoor, were all chic and hep, Amrita was the ‘behenji’ who saw a new avtar for her. Amrita Puri (Aisha)
She was one of the girls in Aisha and while women around him, including the leading lady Sonam Kapoor, were all chic and hep, Amrita was the 'behenji' who saw a new avtar for her. Still, rather than coming across as someone who was just a glossed up packaging, Amrita did have a natural act to boast of as well. A revelation, Amrita is all set to get noticed in Bollywood provided she makes a good choice of roles in her future outings.
Pradhuman Singh (Tere Bin Laden)
To be presented as Osama Bin Laden and still get loved and adored by one and all isn't something that anyone can dream of. Still, debutant Pradhuman Singh picked up this challenge and was more than willing to don the garb of world's most wanted terrorist. As goofy and nerdy Pakistani who was unaware of his own credentials as an Osama look alike, Pradhuman was hilarious. It has to be seen though that once he removes his beard, how is Pradhuman's face received in future Bollywood films. -

There isn't a huge crowd of debutants who would be vouching for the top honours this year. In fact not even a single debutant had a smash hit success to his/her name mainly due to his/her act. Still, a few did manage to leave a mark and promise that they would be seen in many more films to come, provided they make the right choices.
Ranveer Singh (Band Baaja Baaraat)
A powerhouse of talent and coming with a willingness to work hard, Ranveer is clearly the BEST debutant of 2010. As a wayward North Indian college student who found a meaning in life in due course of time, he was perfect in Band Baaja Baaraat. His dialogue delivery, body language and overall attitude not just went totally well with the character that he played but also established loud and clear that he has it in him to enjoy a very long innings in Bollywood.
Rajat Barmecha (Udaan)
In a year of surprises when quite a few debutants made a mark based on their own skills tather than any PR machinery at place, Rajat Barmecha came trumps. As a teenager with a mind of his own, Rajat should be neck to beck with Ranveer when it comes to an award for the best debutant. He resembles Imran Khan at places and his natural act should make him a hit amongst those who are looking for a realistic performance. -
Omkar Das Manikpuri (Peepli [Live] ) Omkar Das Manikpuri was clearly one of the most unsung and unassuming finds. Omkar Das Manikpuri was clearly one of the most unsung and unassuming finds. Bollywood, which has majority of debutants embarking on a formulaic start, saw a village character emerging as one of the most popular names in 2010. If in women it was 'Munni' and 'Sheila', in men it was 'Natha'. Superb in his craft, one wonders though whether Omkar's career may soon go the Rajpal Yadav way as going by his first film, he doesn't quite seem to be cut out for mainstream cinema.
Zarine Khan (Veer)
It is surprising that though Zarine Khan had a much bigger role and value in the narrative of Veer when compared to Sonakshi Sinha's part in Dabangg, she didn't see as much hype coming her way. Well, this is where star kids do win the race after all. She did make a decent first impression and once she further works on her fitness, there are bound to be many more takers as Zarine was reasonably convincing as a performer in her debut film. -
Sonakshi Sinha (Dabangg) A star is born. Sonakshi had a rather small role to play in Dabangg. She wasn’t even the centre of attraction when it came to song and dance department (Malaika Arora took the lead with her ‘Munni’ act). There wasn’t any quintessential romantic moment shared with her leading hero (Salman Khan). Still, Read More">Read More
Sonakshi Sinha (Dabangg)

She wasn't even the centre of attraction when it came to song and dance department (Malaika Arora took the lead with her 'Munni' act). There wasn't any quintessential romantic moment shared with her leading hero (Salman Khan). Still, in those 2-3 solid scenes that she got for herself, she left an impact and made sure that she would have a bountiful innings ahead. No wonder, biggies are already making place for this Dabangg girl.
Ali Zafar (Tere Bin Laden)
Ali Zafar is one actor who came out of nowhere and made an instant impact. Confident and natural with an innocent & lively face to boast, Ali hails from Pakistan but is well finding a future in Bollywood flicks. Tere Bin Laden did decent business to emerge as one of the small successes of the year. However, Ali Zafar is going big with his in-the-making Mere Brother Ki Dulhan pairing him with none other than Katrina Kaif.
