Last week saw the release of Maximum, in which Sonu Sood's performance in the high octane cop drama has already started earning him bouquets galore! Satish Sundaresan of Bollywood Hungama takes a sneak peak through the lens of the film's director Kabeer Kaushik to give you a first hand account of what happened 'Behind The Scenes' while shooting for the film. Over to Kabeer…
It was a Sunday and the locals were running at a low frequency. The shot required Sonu Sood and his police entourage to come towards the camera with the train passing full-throttle in the background. The 400 mm tele-lens was complicating our life sizably with the sun playing hide and seek! Amidst all this mayhem, Sonu insisted on Rajinikanth-style of twirling the gun in air. My only worry was that what if he is not able to control it!' To this, Sonu replied, "Sir, no tension! I have been practicing since childhood. And by now, I have mastered the art of doing it". This is the very famous scene from the smash hit track 'Aa Ante Amalapuram'. All of us knew that we were not shooting for a scene but an item number. Right from the word 'Go', the shoot of this song was energetic to say the least. All of us were on our toes. And when we say the final product today on the silver screen, we do have a large grin on our faces, as we know the amount of hard work that has gone into it.

When we were to shoot the bike scene, Naseeruddin Shah retorted, "You never mentioned the bike ride in our discussions". And that's when I thought to myself that, "Well…it was meant to be a surprise!" he then asked me, "Where's the camera going to be?" I, pointing out at the precariously positioned Jimmy Jib on an extended contraption that was attached to the truck, said "Sir... here". He simply glanced at it once and said that, "If it's going to be on that, I'm not riding." That's when the paraphernalia came off the rigs in a few minutes and we shot him the good old desi style. As they say, 'The man…The machine…here, let me add... and the Marine Drive traffic!'
