Rakhi Sawant once said "Jo dikta hai, wohi bikta hai" and the statement that pretty much applies to big multinational brands roping in famous Bollywood faces to endorse their products. This year not just saw Bollywood stars bagging a number of brand endorsement deals but also lot of brands replacing the old faces with newer ones. Well, not exactly hitting below the belt to any person or brand, Satish Sundaresan of Bollywood Hungama brings to you the 'branded' stories behind the brand-wagon!
Category: Innerwear
The innerwear segment saw lots of stars being roped in for endorsements. Innerwear brand Oscar replaced Dino Morea with Emraan Hashmi this year. Emraan thus joined the likes of Hrithik Roshan, Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan who happen to be the face of Macroman, Lux Cozy, Dollar and Dixcy Scott respectively. (Speaking of Emraan, news is that the actor recently refused to endorse a leading condom brand, stating that he doesn't want to be associated only with raunchiness anymore and that he doesn't want to endorse anything or be a part of a campaign that is overtly sexual in nature.)
Insiders say that these stars charge astronomical amounts when it comes to endorsing the innerwear category. When we asked, one of our reliable sources about the moolah that the stars quote, the source very politely signed off saying "Ye andar ki baat hai!" We just couldn't have argued more!
Table:
Lux Cozy- Sunny Deol
Oscar- Emraan Hashmi
Dollar - Akshay Kumar
Dixcy- Salman Khan
Macroman- Hrithik
Amul- Saif Ali Khan -

'Madame' Madhuri Dixit too became a face of Olay this year.
The cosmetic giant Lakme, made a splash of news by announcing the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor as well as the newbie Shraddha Kapoor as its brand ambassadors. Surprisingly, this year no major deals were signed by the eternally gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is every brand's dream face! Sources however say that Ash is just a few steps away from inking a mega deal with an international jewellery brand. On the other hand, Sushmita Sen continued to make news by becoming the face of Jafra Cosmetics.

This was one category that was red hot in the ad fraternity with some of the best known names being chosen as the brand ambassadors. The chemistry between the now-on-now-off couple Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra started 'Bru-ing' all over again, when they got chosen as the brand ambassadors of Bru coffee. The Singham girl Kajal Aggarwal endorses the brand in the south Indian market.
The rival brand Nescafe is also not far behind as they have Karan Johar-Deepika Padukone-Purab Kohli's endorsing it.
