The shoot of Barfee was recently brought to a halt in the wee hours of morning by the angry crowd at Darjeeling when they were shooting at a mall. A few students on their way to school were passing the shooting site along with their parents and the shoot was getting interrupted as the kids were coming into the frame. The crew members allegedly started shouting at the crowd to clear the area and continue shooting uninterruptedly.
Priyanka Chopra plays the role of a mentally challenged girl. To get her act right, reports have it that she has even met many people suffering from the mental condition. Her scenes are being shot with utmost privacy, since she is very nervous about this role and wants to get it absolutely right. On the other hand, Ileana will be seen playing a 19-year-old to a 30 year old to a 65 year-old! So much in a debut film...
Ranbir will be essaying the role of a happy-go-lucky deaf-mute character in the film. Even though Ranbir won't speak in the film, he will not be entirely mute. As director Anurag Basu points out that mute people are not entirely quiet, they make sounds in place of using proper words and these sounds convey the entire emotional verbal impact of their thought processes. Ranbir's character in the movie has been inspired from Charlie Chaplin and Rowan Atkinson. His character's name is Murphy but being mute he mumbles it as 'Barfee'.
Ranbir Kapoor will be sporting three different looks in this film. Here, Ranbir is seen wearing a cap and an argyle pattern sleeveless vest over a shirt. His clean shaven look for this scene does make him look young and innocent. Ileana D'Cruz is seen wearing a blue high-waist skirt with brown boots. Some combo that is!
On one hand, while Ranbir Kapoor is being linked with many of the gorgeous women off screen, there is one gorgeous actress who is all set to take the nation by storm, courtesy, her Hindi film debut with Ranbir in the forthcoming film Barfee. The girl in question is none other than the southern sensation Ileana D'Cruz.
Bollywood Hungama got hold of some of the pictures of the awesome twosome Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz on the sets of Barfee at Ghoom railway station in Darjeeling. Coincidentally, Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor, had shot for his movie Mera Naam Joker in this very hill station four decades ago, where he played a schoolboy. Barfee is a two heroine project that stars Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz, both of whom vying for Ranbir's attention. For the uninitiated, Ileana has been a part of many smash hits films down south like Pokiri and Kick. Barfee also marks the return of Ranbir-Priyanka pair after last year's Anjaana Anjaani.
