"I'm doing 3 movies right now, Zindagi 50-50 which is an A rated film. In the animation genre I have My Friend Ganesha 4 which is due to release in April and Tarzan the Wonder Car 2. Apart from these; I would be making more mythological oriented animation composited films on deities soon.

The initial opening sequence called for a lot of VFX, we infused a rain sequence in the beginning of the film, where the establishing shots make it known that the film is set in Gujarat. In the same scene, we showed a small villa which is the center of a rain storm. This scene also establishes how Juhi and the child cross paths; this was a very critical aspect which formed the entire narrative of the film. A lot of visual effects work was involved with making the divine Lord Krishna's apparition appear. We played with the invisibility and other VFX elements, which helped augment the deity's transition into earth. In one particular scene where the child actor Namit questions the animated deity's powers, in which the deity replies by changing his entire surroundings to jungle like place, which is similar to the Pandora jungles of James Cameron's Avatar. This is something that has never been attempted in Indian Cinema. -

In my previous films, I did not get the opportunity to cast big artists like Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif. Considering that I had two of the biggest artists from Bollywood, I think the biggest challenge in this film was handling the stars of the film. It was important for me to show Krishna and the star cast side-by-side, in a manner that would portray their unique presence on screen. I think that was the biggest challenge segregating the prominence of the characters.

While we have done most of the animation work in India, there were some scenes that called for international help, such as a crowd sequence in which I wanted to show 300 clones of Lord Krishna. In order to accomplish this, we outsourced about 5 animation heavy shots to a studio in Singapore. The film comprises about 25 minutes of pure animation. Juhi saw my previous film My Friend Ganesha 3 with her kids and they really liked the film. On seeing their exuberance towards the film, Juhi did not hesitate to do my film. Hrithik, who makes a special appearance in the film, actually bore the climax of the film on his shoulder, while Katrina was fused a little differently into the narrative of the movie with her enacting out an action scene where she saves a kid.

The first animation feature to hit us this year, turns out to be a live action 3D animation composited film labeled, Main Krishna Hoon. Directed by Rajiv S. Ruia (of My Friend Ganesha fame) the film features Juhi Chawla and child actor Namit Shah. The film, which revolves around the adventures of the animated deity Krishna and child actor Namit, also has Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif doing cameos. The hybrid film took over a year and a half to complete and most of the film was shot in Hyderabad, except for the scenes where Katrina Kaif was involved. Talking about the project Rajiv says, "When the 12th character design of the animated deity was locked during pre-production, we decided to go ahead with the modeling process, we outsourced some animation work to Singapore that took a lot of time, this was a concurrent production that happened along with the production in India." Bollywood Hungama's Philip Bode gets Rajiv to talk about, animation being restricted to children, making actors act for animation and the challenges in making Main Krishna Hoon.
"Most of the animation films that release are inclined towards children only"
I feel that India has not witnessed its very own live action animated composited movie, where we have live action plates interacting with CG characters. This was until my last film My Friend Ganesha 3 released, which was touted as India's first live action, 3D animation composited feature film. My principal lead characters in both my films My friend Ganesha 3 and Main Krishna Hoon, have played god characters. Most of the animation films that release are inclined towards children only. I have carved out the narrative in a manner where even adults can enjoy the film.
