Having dressed the likes of Madonna, Paris Hilton and royalties like Princess Christine Sturdza and Queen Rania of Jordan, designer Pria Kataria Puri makes her Bollywood foray with Apoorva Lakhia's Zanjeer. Bollywood Hungama's Divya Rajani had a brief chat with Pria on designing the look for Priyanka Chopra's character Mala in the film.

Priyanka's character Mala: Priyanka plays a fabulous role in Zanjeer. She is playing the role of Mala, a rich NRI girl who comes to India and by fluke sees an accident. Her character goes through three phases, first is that of a spoilt NRI girl, followed by a girl who is 'lost in the woods' and lastly a girl who is happy in love.

Inspiration: Priyanka's character Mala itself was my inspiration. Mala is a very young, funny and quirky girl. She is a complete drama queen and loves throwing tantrums, but at the same time is a very loving, large hearted and sensitive girl. She is very sure of herself and knows exactly what she wants.

Look 3: Happy in Love In her third phase, Priyanka’s character is in love. She is happy and no longer lost, she is feeling secure and emerges as a strong and confident personality. In her third phase, Priyanka's character is in love. She is happy and no longer lost, she is feeling secure and emerges as a strong and confident personality.

The Look: In this phase, Priyanka's clothes are a little less sensual and more Indianised, elegant and classy.

Brands sported: We have used a whole mix of luxury and hi-street brands for this look. Priyanka is also seen sporting a ghaghra saree designed by me and Manish Malhotra creations in the song Pinky.

Pria's favourite look: There is a very beautiful white and black dress Priyanka is wearing in the hospital scene. I think people will love that look as it is very fierce, chic and elegant. Also the white ghaghra saree that she is wearing in the Sher Khan song. It has a very old world charm. I also think the pyjamas, ganjis and tank tops with hoodies will become a huge trend.

Priyanka's character then transforms into someone who is lost in the woods, where she has no idea about what is going on around her. She is stranded and has lost all her luggage.

The look: Here I have given her a very cute, sweet girly look. We have experimented with a lot of young trendy styles. Her clothes are such that she can find them in India but we have kept in mind her character's NRI sensibilities. We have tried to keep this look very realistic. I have played around with a lot of vibrant outfits, lot of mix and matches and separates. When her character is lounging around, you will see her in boxer shorts with 'I love Mumbai Police' t-shirts. I hope the pyjamas and boxer shorts become a trend. To make her look more realistic and affordable, Priyanka is seen wearing hi-street brands during this phase.

Accessories: We had to underplay and have not gone over the top with accessories. She will be seen sporting very interesting glass bangles in this look.

She is seen in her fitted dresses, expensive handbags, and a very nice bob. It is a very international look. Her dresses in these scenes have come from all over the world. I personally shopped for her clothes from London, New York and Dubai. The clothes are elegant and look really luxurious.

Accessories: As an NRI, you will see her fully accessorised with designer dresses, handbags and shoes.
