Working with Jackky Bhagnani
Jackky is a wonderful co-star. When we started working together, we realized we are quite similar to each other. He is a complete prankster and so am I. So our wavelengths matched. We would be pulling each other's leg, having fun and even ganging up to pull a prank on other crew members. He is very hard-working and dedicated. He was an inspiration for me to work-out more regularly at the gym.
'Captain Cool' Sanjay Gadhvi
You know when I first got to know that the film is being directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, I thought I would be wearing leather jackets, high heels and riding bikes (laughs). However my hopes went for a toss when I was told that my character is that of a simple girl next door. Jokes apart, Sanjay Gadhvi is one of the coolest directors I've worked with. He is the Captain of the ship and we call him 'Captain Cool' on the sets. He has in the past worked with big stars and was now working with relative newcomers like us yet he managed to understand our mindset. He is like a buddy with us.
Difference between South film industry and Bollywood
I keep getting asked this question a lot but I don't really find any difference between the two industries. For me the transition happened so quickly that I didn't really have the time to think about it as such. More and more actors and filmmakers from South are working in Hindi films nowadays and I hope one day we are just called as the Big Fat Indian Film industry. -

I remember rushing to watch Gupt first day first show with a friend of mine as we didn't want to know the suspense before hand. There were posters of her all over my room. She is my all time favourite actress.
Favourite film
It has to be Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. I've seen it a zillion times and own the video cassette, VCD, DVD of the film.
Directors on my wish-list
I'd like to work with everyone. For me my character has to have a lot of weight age and the story has to be really good. That's all that matters
Future projects
I am reading a few scripts and maybe after the release of Ajab Gazabb Love, I'll take on new projects. I'd like to keep a balance between both Kannada and Hindi films. -

Bagging Ajab Gazabb Love
I didn't really plan to enter Bollywood. I've never really planned my career moves as such. I was shooting for my 7th film Anna Bond when my manager told me that they were casting for this Hindi film and asked me to come down to Mumbai. I came and met the makers and they liked me and before I knew it, within 2 weeks I had begun shooting for Ajab Gazabb Love.
Playing Maddy
My character Maddy in Ajab Gazabb Love is a lot like how I am in real life. She is a free-spirited girl, has very strong likes and dislikes and is a very affectionate kind of a person who wins over everyone's hearts. She works for an NGO and likes to help out the poor. For some reason, which you will know when you watch the film, she hates rich people. Then she comes across this filthy rich boy Rajveer (played by Jackky) who falls for her and pretends to be poor to win her heart. It's basically a comedy of errors. -

The year 2012 has already seen a host of newcomers making their debut in Bollywood and there is more to come. Come Dusshera (Oct 24) and yet another South siren is all set to make her big Bollywood debut with Ajab Gazabb Love. We are talking about the gorgeous Nidhi Subbaiah who is already making a lot of hearts go 'Boom Boom' even before the release of her first film. Bollywood Hungama's Nikhil Ramsubramaniam met up with Nidhi and traced down her journey from Coorg's coffee plantations to the glitz and glamour of Bollywood. Read on…
Growing up years
I am originally from Coorg, Karnataka. I grew up in a coffee plantation and my dad was a coffee planter. I did my schooling and college in Mysore while living with my grand-parents. Not many people know that I used to be a sailor and have even won a gold medal in sailing at the National level. That helped me get a merit seat in engineering through the sports quota. I was in my second year of engineering when I started getting offers for modeling in ads etc. So I didn't really get a chance to complete my engineering and that's how my journey into the glam world began.
My films down South
I've finished 3 years in the South film industry primarily doing Kannada films. One of my first Kannada films was Abhimaani and prior to that I had no filmy background whatsoever. So whatever I learnt about acting- be it how to face the camera, how to say your lines etc. was on that film. My biggest hits down South have been Panchrangi, Krishnan Marriage Story and Anna Bond.
