Background
"I am a hardcore Punjabi girl from Delhi. I did my schooling and college in Delhi. I belong to a middle-class family and we never really went much to theatre to watch films. I never had any intention whatsoever of joining films. I was a bright student when it came to academics and also excelled in extra-curricular activities especially dancing. I am a trained Kathak dancer for 8 years. I finished my engineering graduation and was all set to work in Infosys when as luck would have it I got an offer in a South film and the rest as they say is history."
Early days of Modelling
"While I was in college, a lot of people asked me to try my hand at modelling. I randomly got some pictures of mine clicked and sent them to Channel V's show Get Gorgeous and surprisingly I got selected among Top 10 in Delhi. That gave me some confidence to get my full portfolio shot and very soon I started getting offers for print advertisements. My parents initially asked me why I wanted to get into modeling etc. However, since I had always been obedient to them and never let them down in any way, they allowed me to give it one proper shot. Post that, I got selected for Miss India which is a huge platform and from there I went on to shoot many TVC's down South. That is where I got noticed by filmmakers down South and my journey as an actress began." -

Dating Ali, Siddharth or Divyendu?
"Divyendu and I hail from Delhi because of which we really got along fabulously well. He's my favourite of the 3. Ali is really supportive and fun too. However both of them are married (smiles). Sid is someone who I have looked up to as a senior. So I don't have the idea of dating anyone."
Working with David Dhawan
"David sir was like the youngest member of the crew with maximum energy and enthusiasm. This is his 41st film and to see such excitement in him is remarkable. He transfers that positive vibe to you and everyone on the set. He is a very real and down-to-earth human being."
Directors on wish-list & future projects
"Everyone has a huge wish list. If I start rattling names, I won't stop. If there's one director I would love to work with, its Mani Ratnam sir. I have been a huge fan of his work. As for my future projects in Hindi, I've been meeting people and hearing scripts. However, I haven't signed anything as yet. Let the movie release and then I will be able to zero in on something worthwhile." -

Comparisons with Deepti Naval
"I hadn't seen the original Chashme Baddoor till I was offered this film. I saw it later and liked it. I am not even thinking about comparisons with Deepti Naval. It's a feeling I don't want to think about and experience. My role is totally different from what Deepti Naval played in the original. I play a regular college going girl who is a rebel of sorts, she is totally outgoing and very today's girl. In fact every girl from the present generation will relate to my character."
On being wooed by 3 boys in her first film
"That's the USP of my character and made me pounce on this role. Down South there is usually one hero being wooed by 3 girls and here I am the only girl being wooed by 3 boys in my very first film. I think that makes me stand out in a way. It's definitely an exciting feeling for any actress." -

I shot both them simultaneously in 2010. I was shuttling for a year between Delhi and Hyderabad and then I decided to take up a house in Hyderabad. Since then I've done 7 Telugu, 2 Tamil and 1 Malayalam film which have released. Besides I already have another 2 Tamil and 3 Telugu films on floors."
Bagging Chashme Baddoor
"I was offered to do Puri Jagannadh's Buddahh Hoga Terra Baap which was also produced by Viacom 18. Puri Sir asked for immediate dates but unfortunately I didn't have dates at that point of time. He was sweet to recommend my name to Viacom 18 who were looking out for a new girl for Chashme Baddoor. I met the people at Viacom 18 and they liked me and forwarded my name to David Sir. I then met David Sir and even did a photo-shoot and I was on board for Chashme Baddoor."
