Rahul Roy
Rahul Roy started off with a big bang with Mahesh Bhatt's Aashiqui (1990) which proved to be a major musical hit. Sadly, after that other than Lawrence D'souza's Sapne Saajan Ke, none of his films had a similar impact. He did a negative role in a supernatural thriller Junoon (along with Avinash Wadhwan who also features in this list), but that film didn't do much for his sagging career. He too moved towards television for a short stint and now has just started his second innings in Bollywood. A Z-grader Meri Aashiqui (2005) came and went without a trace and his next Rafta Rafta (2006) too bit the dust. Also some regional films were talked about. He still has a few movies on hand now and word is that he is going to direct a film as well.
Trivia:
- He was previously dating Suman Ranganathan.
- He had put on a lot of weight and now seems to have gotten some of it under control.
- Is married to ex-model Rajlaxmi Khanvilkar.
The light eyed boy was immediately noticed in Shekhar Kapur's Masoom (1983). He then went on to make his adult debut in Aa Gale Lag Jaa (1994). All eyes were on him but the film turned out to be a damp squid. (Interestingly his co-star in his child and adult debut film was same - Urmila Matondkar. While he played her step-brother in Masoom , they were romantically paired in the latter). After that is was difficult for Jugal all the way until Aditya Chopra noticed him and signed him up for Mohabbatein (2000) - his biggest film to date. Off course with the amount of youngsters in the film, he hardly got any recognition. He had a Rajshri production Hum Pyar Tumhi Se Kar Baite (2002) to which people were not really interested. Obviously, this young man was not the same young lad he had been a couple of decades ago. A stint on television with Karisma - The Miracle of Destiny and some really miniscule blink and miss roles in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001) and Salaam Namaste (2005) is all that we see of him nowadays.
Trivia:
- He dated Kim Sharma for a brief while. She was his co-star in Mohabbatein.

Kumar Gaurav
Kumar Gaurav can be the prime example of a one-film wonder. His first film Love Story in 1981 proved to be his first and only solid hit. Flop after flop after flop later, he decided to call it quits. He was then back in the limelight with his delayed film Gang along with Jackie Shroff, Javed Jaffery and Nana Patekar and then finally had a little bigger role in the multi-starrer hit Kaante . (Psst! The producer of the film Sanjay Dutt is also his brother-in-law). He is now seen in political campaigns lending support to his sister-in-law Priya Dutt.
Trivia:
- He is the son of late Rajendra Kumar and is married to Sanjay Dutt's sister Namrata Dutt.
- He was in the television serial Chocolate.
He debuted in Mahesh Bhatt's Sir (1993) opposite Pooja Bhatt and had Naseeruddin Shah as well. The film turned out to be a hit but just like everyone else in this list, his other films do well either. Krantiveer (1995) was a Nana Patekar film all the way and Atul's wooden acting capabilities could not really sustain himself anywhere in the film. He slowly moved to television and also starred in Anaida's pop video Oova Oova as well. Was last seen in the delayed Shahrukh Khan - Madhuri Dixit starrer Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam and recently directed the Salman Khan-Preity Zinta starrer Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha .
Trivia:
- Atul is married to Alvira, sister of Salman Khan.
- He rechristened himself as Atull Agnihotri.

Sumeet Saigal
Sumeet Saigal has had a lot of films to his credit, but a very few like Bahar Aane Tak (1990) actually stand out and is one of his bigger hits. This plump hero gradually bid farewell to Bollywood and recently made his debut on television with Aangan and Shaan and a few more. He has turned producer with Bhoot Uncle starring Jackie Shroff in the main lead.
Trivia:
- Is married to Shaheen Banu, niece of yesteryear actress Saira Banu. Shaheen was also an actress for a few films.
Best known for films like Junoon (1992), Police aur Mujrim (1992), Balmaa (1993) and Paapi Gudiya (1996), Avinash too found it tough on the film front. So he moved towards regional flicks. His Punjabi film Khalsaa Mero Roop Hai Khaas was a success in UK and L.A. and his Telugu film Bharat Ratna did good business in Andhra Pradesh. And if that wasn't enough he moved to television as well with his serial Zindagi - Teri Meri Kahani . He also made his debut on stage with a political satire called Kabhi Luck Kabhi Chance . Talk about exploring new territories.
Trivia:
- He was a popular model of the 80's.
- He starred in a British Movie The Case (2002) , in which he was known as Malaria Max.

Ronit Roy
He is now quite a successful name in Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Mihir Virani and in Kausati Zindagi Kay as Rishabh Bajaj. But how many of us mere mortals know about his film career? Ronit started of as a lead actor in Jaan Tere Naam - the only hit of his career. He went on to make another dozen films and another dozen got shelved even before the mahurat shot. His Army (1996) had Shahrukh Khan in a special appearance and even he could not save the film. He was recently seen on (or rather not seen) in Nishaan - The Target (2005) and a bit role in Kisna (2005). His forthcoming films include Dil Laga Ke Dekho and Aap Jaisa Koi Nahin . With his films failing left, right and centre, his decision to move to television was definitely his safest bet.
Trivia:
- Is the elder brother of television actor and fellow flop actor Rohit Roy.
Vivek Mushran
Vivek had a dream debut with Subhash Ghai's Saudagar having a mammoth cast comprising of Dilip Kumar, Raj Kumar, Jackie Shroff and also had Manisha Koirala making her debut opposite him. But according to the laws of physics - what goes up must come down. Poor fellow, didn't have much of a chance to lift his feet of the ground when he got sucked into it. A spate of bad films and bad acting performances forced him out of the limelight until he too made a head towards television with Son Pari and was recently seen on Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki as well. The 'ILU ILU' boy also had rendered a really bad album 'Main Kahin' which too sank without a trace. He was last seen in his mentor's Kisna.
Trivia:
- Not many people know but he also sang a song for Manisha Koirala's home production Paisa Vasool (2004). Geee! We wonder why it wasn't ever promoted.

Ayub Khan
Ayub Khan made people notice him in his debut Mashooq (1992) opposite Ayesha Jhulka. But it was the surprise hit Salaami (1994), that actually made the industry-wallahs take this new Khan seriously. He came up with a sort of an identical flick Sanjay (1995) which tried to capitalize on Salaami , but it bit the dust. Slowly and steadily his career graph started sliding downwards. Dil Chata Hai (2001) brought him back into the public eye and then he went onto do a few more films but as a side actor like Qayamat (2003), Gangaajal (2003) and Apaharan (2005). He too moved towards the small screen with soaps like Karisma - The Miracle of Destiny, India Calling , etc. Today, he has a few films on hand but nothing really significant to talk about. He is also seen a lot on the party circuit with his wife Nihaarika.
Trivia:
- He is the nephew of yesteryear superstar Dilip Kumar. He is the son of Dilip Kumar's brother Nasir Khan who was also an actor.
Hemant Birje came into Bollywood in 1985 with a howl (in a loose sense) with 'The Adventures of Taarzan' (the movie which people know simply as Taarzan ) opposite Kimi Katkar. The film turned out to be a major hit. He went onto to make a number of B- Graders after that and was seen as the next Dara Singh for a while. He was last seen in Garv - Pride and Honour (2005). This muscular Stallone wannabe was in the news more for his off screen antics rather than his movie. Along with a friend he was accused of molesting a girl and her friends in a suburban Mumbai apartment. Recently he was thrown out of Abhishek Bachchan's birthday bash for allegedly getting drunk after he gate-crashed at the party.
