First time director Aatish Kapadia who wrote dialogues and screenplay of popular films like the Mann, Aankhen and Josh is all set to market his film Khichdi based on the popular TV show that has made us laugh for years together. It is for the first time that an Indian TV show has been turned into a film.
The popular TV stars organised the first look launch event to make a statement that TV actors too can be successful movie actors. The cast and crew of Khichdi addressed the media post unveiling their film poster and said, "It's symbolic. What Taj Mahal is to lovers, Shah Rukh's house is the same for anyone moving from television to films...He is inspirational."
They chose SRK's Mannat of all the places in Mumbai city, to mark the significant success that SRK has achieved over the years after being a television star once. A lot of crowd gathered outside thinking SRK would step outside and maybe they would get to steal a look at him but to no avail.
Starring Supriya Pathak, Anang Desai, Rajeev Mehta and Girish Sahdev, the film had its first promotional event outside Shah Rukh Khan's celebrated residence recently.
