Her first offer came from the ace director Anurag Basu who saw her in a coffee shop and signed her for his film Gangster. And the rest as they say is history.
There started the career of this determined woman. What followed after that, were commendable performances in movies like Woh Lamhe, Life In A... Metro, Raaz - The Mystery Continues and the recently released Fashion...films which went onto give Bollywood its very own intense actress! Kangna has a biggie coming up this season - Kites.
If the buzz about Kites is anything to go by, then, one can be assured of the Box-Office hitting extremely high notes once the film is released! Well, if you feel that was all, then, hear this! News has it that this doe-eyed beauty has been offered to star in a US-based film titled Between the Night and the Moon. If all goes well, then, she will play a character called Zoon in this romantic film that's loosely based on the eternal love story of Romeo and Juliet. News also has it that this film will be shot in Kashmir, Miami and Florida while its director will be the Italy-based Gilda Pianelli.
Continuing the tradition of 'Keeping the best for the last', we would like to tell you that Kangs is also a well-trained Kathak dancer and has learnt singing from the legendary Amitabh Chakraborty. So, the next time you hear a melodious song on the silver screen, who knows, it just might the Miss Ranaut giving playback singing a shot!
She started her career as a theatre actor in Delhi with the locally popular Asmita Theatre Group, under the able guidance of the prolific theatre director Arvind Gaur. And it was under the aegis of this man that she paved the way to her first play called 'Tale-Danda (Rakt-Kalyan)', which was directed by the popular Girish Karnad, in which she played the role of Lalitamba.
