DP: That's bad!
TD: I know but I have this thing for SRK running as he gets down from the chopper. KJo has done it so brilliantly. He runs on the bridge in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai too. But the date went well.
DP: So now you ignored the guy on your first date. Nice! But listen, isn't this a bit awkwardly interesting? I mean, a 'date' on Sunday at 11 AM?
TD: That's a brunch date. That's what you call it.
DP: Gotcha!
TD: I am a late riser but I couldn't miss this one (winks).
(I get up to surprise her)
DP: ...and you can't miss this one too! Surprises aren't to be missed darling.
TD: Oh my God! This is so what 'dates' are all about. Just for this, I don't mind going on a date with you again.
(Tena thinks it's a ring box and deep down my brain and heart I say to myself 'Wish it was a ring'. She unwraps it and as she does that....)
TD: I accept! I want my ring now!
DP: I haven't given anything like this to any of my previous 'dates'.
TD: Oh is it? Good to know that you're sitting with me talking about your previous 'dates'.
DP: I didn't mean that lovely. Listen; now shut your eyes for a second.
(I take the box from her hand, kneel down and open the box. It's a MAGNETIC ROPE. And I pray to God she doesn't hang me with that. Tena is still intrigued and can't understand what the Magnetic Rope is all about)
TD: What a bloody Magnetic Rope?
DP: It's amazing, isn't it?
TD: It's got some MI like qualities. -

Tena Desae's body can tell you a million stories. Effervescent yet shy, super excited yet laidback. She wiggles, manoeuvres and looking outside the large glass partition signals that she is all prepared to walk tall with her debut British movie titled The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Tena is a rebel in the making. She projects the kind of wary, rebellious edge that is so much more typical of her age group. She is in her twenties and the names I'll be mentioning next is the reason why she's getting all bright and breezy: Dev Patel, Tom Wilkinson, Maggie Smith and Judi Dench. On a sunny Sunday we decide to meet at Spaghetti Kitchen. It's almost brunch time. Tena, in her effortless purple floral dress checks out the ambience while I check the exotic Kingfisher Calendar girl from top to toe. Desae has just been featured in the 2012 almanac. Believe me when I say 'Contents are Hot'. To a large segment of population, Tena may have sprung from nowhere on the celluloid scene. Some facts about Tena: Nothing short of a Hollywood debut with Dev Patel, a perfectly curvy body...on the calendar and off too and just the thing the doctor ordered in the morning - a dream date. Desae carries a lot on her slender shoulders for a young woman barely out of her teens. But her transition to adulthood will be a boon to moviegoers in days and months to come. She herself may doubt her credentials but I don't, and because we know that Bollywood is a tough place to hide, let me help you discover my stunning date.
First date, cappuccinos, that thing she has got for SRK, surprise gifts, etc. can all be Tena Desae's, but I so badly wanted her on that couch. Ouch! -

Devansh Patel: I'm gonna take my chair a bit closer to you.
Tena Desae: Please do.
DP: I like sitting next to my date.
TD: I like sitting next to my date too. But right now I am so excited about my first British movie with Dev Patel.
DP: What dress are you wearing?
TD: Now you are ignoring me Dev.
DP: Ignoring is bliss. But let's start again
TD: (laughs)
DP: What dress are you wearing?
TD: (laughs) This is my Sunday dress-down day and so I have chose this floral purple dress, gone to the parlour and got my hair done so that I appeal to you a bit more.
DP: Ahh! Now you're talking. I have chosen Spaghetti Kitchen for our date. Do you like the ambience?
TD: Yes, and I can't wait to start eating.
DP: Alrighty! Let's order some coffee to begin with.
TD: Noooooo! Food food! I want a full English breakfast (laughs)
(I place an order for two cappuccinos)
DP: So, as our coffee arrives, you can recall your first date.
TD: (Thinking) Got it! Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.
DP: You are telling me that you saw K3G on your first date?
TD: (laughs) Yes! I went and saw the movie with this guy. I was completely ignoring the guy on my date. -

(Magnetic Rope is a photo display rope of its kind. You get five magnets along with it so you can 'pin' your 'pic' on the rope)
DP: How's it?
TD: I love it. It's the first time I'm ever been gifted anything. I've got flowers but you've taken an effort to go and find this 'out of the box' surprise. I accept it with all my love.
(Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs)
(Our cappuccinos arrive)
DP: Do you like your cappuccino too frothy?
TD: What? (Laughs)
(Yes, I do ask such questions...sometimes....its fun to see the reaction)
TD: I normally don't have hot coffee. I prefer cold. Could you pass me some sugar please?
DP: Sure. Here you go. No sugar free for you?
TD: No. I want to gain a bit now (laughs). Honestly, I had put on 4 kgs in six months and lost it all for the Kingfisher Calendar.
DP: Wow! Atul Kasbekar is so 'bling'. Lucky! Ok, Listen up, would you mind having a 'relationship' with me sooner or later?
TD: Baby steps Devansh. I am on a 'date' with you. We can be in a relationship. You never know!
DP: (Speeechlessssssss)
TD: Although I do think it's better to go out with people who are not from the industry.
(I am now feeling a bit uncomfortable and this is what comes out from my mouth next)
DP: Let's go and sit on that couch. Let's change positions.
