When flamboyant cricketer Ravi Shastri first met Amrita Singh sparks flew. Ravi with his innovative stroke play and handsome looks was already the darling of the masses while Dingy (as Amrita is fondly known as) was slowly finding her foothold in the film industry during the late 80's. The duo painted the town red and one television image that stays in the minds of cricket aficionados till date is of the glam-doll Dingy cheering in the stands in Sharjah, whenever Shastri lifted the ball out of the park. They even confessed their feelings for each other in candid camera.
However, like some of the unsuccessful romances between cricketers and Bollywood actresses, their romance too was short lived.
